The NeuroLab of Dr. John Hart at UT Dallas is recruiting for a DOD-funded clinical trial for combat-related PTSD treatment in Post 9/11 Veterans. We’re studying the effects of a non-invasive brain stimulation called Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS) paired with Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for combat-related Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Exclusions include seizures, implanted devices like a pacemaker, and some medical issues. All groups of the study receive an active treatment. Treatment is psychotherapy, neurostimulation, or both. The brain stimulation is non-sedating, non-invasive, and has no sexual side effects. Most medications (including marijuana) are allowed while people are participating in the study.

There are roughly 3 eligibility appointments, 12 treatment sessions, and three follow-ups (1 mo., six mo., and 12 mo.)  Treatment is free, and compensation is provided for some visits. We have immediate availability. The direct link to our webpage with information about this study is here: https://labs.utdallas.edu/memory/research-participation/. The webpage has a confidential form to fill out for those interested, or we can be contacted at 972-883-3171.
