Important – 988 and Press 1. This New Nationwide Suicide Prevention Lifeline, Designation Act Authorized “988” as the new three-digit number for Nation Suicide Prevention Lifeline.

Veterans can use this new number option by dialing 988 and pressing 1.  This nationwide number is to serve both Veterans and Civilians and is part of the law and was activated July 16, 2022.

Veterans can still reach the “Veterans Crisis Line” with the previous phone number 1-800-273 8255, by text (838255) and through Chat (Veterans Crisis line.Net/Chat).
